Metal Worker
Job Description
Army National Guard Metal Workers provide the critical knowledge, expertise, and skills needed to repair and maintain nearly every aspect of military life, from roofs, air ducts, gutters, and vents to manufacturing custom parts. Metal Workers are primarily responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on watercraft and amphibious vehicle body components, radiators, fuel tanks, hulls, and accessories.
The skills you learn as a Metal Worker will help prepare you for a future with civilian metal repair shops, auto repair shops, construction companies, pipeline companies, aircraft manufacturing plants, shipyards, and marine servicing companies.

Get paid to learn! In the Army National Guard, you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.
Job training for a Metal Worker consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply - ask a recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED.)
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements
